PROFESSIONAL BIOGRAPHY:   Prior to re-entering private practice in January, 2013, with Blakely Gregory & Pappoulis, George served as a Deputy Attorney General in the Family Division of the Delaware Department of Justice. During his time as a Deputy, George prosecuted over ninety (90) criminal trials to verdict in the Delaware Family Court, Delaware Court of Common Pleas and Delaware Superior Court.

Following his time in the Domestic Violence Unit, he practiced exclusively in Delaware’s Family Court as part of the Family Division’s Child Protection Unit where he represented the State of Delaware’s Department of Services for Children, Youth and their Families in hundreds of custody matters involving children who were found to be dependent, neglected or abused. Such matters included termination of parental rights trials, adoption proceedings and substantiation hearings involving the placement of individuals on Delaware’s Child Protection Registry. In Fall of 2012, George was awarded one of the New Castle County Family Court Indigent Parent Attorney Contracts leading to his departure from DOJ.

Prior to his time at DOJ, George served as an Associate at Cooch & Taylor, P.A. in Wilmington, Delaware, as well as at Obermayer, Rebmann, Maxwell & Hippel, LLP, in Philadelphia practicing in the areas of business law and corporate bankruptcy. George also served as a Judicial Law Clerk to the Honorable S. Gerald Corso in the Court of Common Pleas in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania.

In 2010, George initiated and still heads the DSBA Emmanuel Dining Room Service Project whereby a different law firm or law related organization sponsors and serves on the ninth of every month at the Emmanuel Dining Room’s Third and Walnut Streets location. To date, the various DSBA sponsored volunteers have provided and served over 12,000 hot meals to the less fortunate through the EDR Service Project. George received the 2013 DSBA Community Service Award in recognition of his service to the Wilmington community through the project.

EDUCATION:   George earned his law degree from the Villanova School of Law and his undergraduate degree from the University of Delaware; George also graduated from Salesianum High School in Wilmington, Delaware.

BAR MEMBERSHIPS:  Delaware and Pennsylvania.

PROFESSIONAL ASSOCIATIONS AND MEMBERSHIPS:   George is a Past Chairperson and Longtime Member of the Family Law Section of the Delaware State Bar Association and a Member at Large on the Executive Committee of Family Court Melson-Arsht Inn of Court.
